Hendrick Mostert, our last ‘stoker’ was born in Gamkaskloof and has written a book, in collaboration with Dr Jan van Elfen, about herbal remedies and the use of witblits in the valley.
A very interesting read, it is available from Janus Art and Books, Box 147, Prince Albert, 6930, at a cost of R25 including postage.
